This is an 'OPEN POOL' position. STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Instruct students in Master Gardener topics offered through The Center for Workforce and Community Education, the one-stop contact for BCC's comprehensive training, consulting, and pre-employment services for individuals or companies in the following areas: Flowers and Gardening, Vegetable Garden Design, Compost & Vermiculture, Fruits and Berries, Season Extension and Winter Gardens, Backyard Gardens, Hardscaping and Stonewalls, Urban Gardens, Container Gardening and Potted Plants, Landscaping/Design, Ornamentals, Shrubs and Trees, Hand Tool Repair & Maintenance, Lawn and Turf Management, Botany, Disease and Insects, Native Habitats, and Plant Identification.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Dean of the Center for Workforce and Community Education.
Minimum 5 year's professional experience in horticulture, agriculture, arboriculture, landscape design, ecological restoration or a related field, and experience delivering workshops, presentations, training or field/classroom education; or content experts with teaching experience in topics such as soils, entomology, botany, ecology, horticulture or related fields; and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
Professional certifications such as MCH/RICH, MCA/ISA, MCLP, AOLCP, Pesticide Applicator; Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Science or related field; and specialized training in topics such as permaculture, native plants, organics, rain gardens or sustainable agriculture.
POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time position with no benefits.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
